This is a great opportunity to learn the art of fish skin tanning from Lotta Rahme, http://www.lottasgarveri.se/English.html, Swedish artist who works with organic and local materials (see her work here), & author of important books on the subject of tanning.
Date: 5-9 September 2012. Location: Helsingen Island, this is south of Gräsö in Northern Roslagen, Sweden.
This sound like fun. I have been working on fish of late. I am having lots of fun trying to make the Halibut work.
What sort of fish do you use in Sweden?
Hello! I use different skins , salmon, pike, burbot. I can usually get skin after the students’ wishes and sometimes students bring their own fish skins. Best regards Lotta
